This is one of the most versatile bedside commodes out there. Fashioned much like a transport chair, its wheels, easy to clean backrest and full seat that rests atop a large plastic toilet seat mean ease of use as well as safer patient transfers. Transferring is further eased by the large rust resistant swivel casters. Plus, because of its narrow width, this bedside commode can also be used as a shower chair and is easy for caregivers to navigate through doorways.
When designing this commode, Drive utilized chrome plated tubing for the frame with high quality welding in its construction. The parts snap together without tools and assembly is a breeze. Keeping safe lateral patient transfers in mind, drop arms and a tool-free removable back were also incorporated. The bucket holds twelve quarts and comes standard with a cover to keep odors at bay.
Bedside commodes make life much easier for many people, and this one makes life especially simple as it can be wheeled away from the bedside to access closets or nightstands, travel to other rooms for as long as needed and be stored out of the way when not in use.
There are 18” of room between the armrests and it’s 22” wide all together. The bedside commode itself is only 35 lbs and can support up to 350 pounds. The detachable, swing-away footrests are sold separately, and can be found here.
