The gel pillow is quite thick and heavy. I thought it would be good for my mother-in-law because the base of her spine swells when she sits in the wheelchair too long. This pillow was hard, but when she sat in it, the gel "gave" a little. As the week went by, I noticed the pillow keeps an indented shape, so I turn the pillow over every day to prevent that "memory." I've sat on it myself, and it's not uncomfortable, but it's not what I expected. I wish I had purchased a coccyx pillow of some type for her swelling at the base of her tailbone.
Pros:It's probably a fine pillow for someone with no major issues.
Cons:No problems, really. I just needed a different type of pillow.
Overall: Yes, I would recommend this product.
Bought this for my 93 year old father-in-law's recliner chair. He absolutely loves it.
Pros:Provides great support and also makes it easier for him to lift himself out of his chair.

This is my first gel type cushion, too soon to judge well. I'm quadriplegic from polio, been confined to wheelchair for 65 years, always used foam rubber or polyurethane cushions successfully.
Pros:It seems to distribute pressure well. Delivery was very prompt.
Cons:Too short. My wheelchair seat is 16" x 16"; but,17" or 18" length, front-to-back,is necessary for leg and seat support. Also, the covering is rather harder than I'm used to.
