What is a care manager? Also called “geriatric care managers,” these professionals are health and human services specialists who help families care for their parents, older relatives and elderly friends.
What are the specific qualifications of the persons who perform the Care Manager Hotline consultations? All Care Manager Hotline phone consultants are social workers or registered nurses (RNs) with specific training and in-depth experience in geriatric care and the issues faced by older individuals and their families.
If I call the Care Manager Hotline how quickly will I be able to speak with a care manager? If you call during our hours of service, in most cases, you will be connected to a care manager right away. You can also arrange a specific appointment time. If you call after hours, you will receive a call the next business day morning. In the event that your situation is urgent, please let the answering service know this and you may be able to speak with a care manager after hours.
How would speaking with a care manager benefit my parent and my family? Whether your parent is in crisis or you have general concerns regarding his or her health and well-being, our care managers can help by first consulting with you, and if appropriate, with your parent. Parentgiving care managers will conduct a detailed phone consultation, then will provide individualized recommendations which address your immediate needs.
