met expextations

Purchased for my 81 year old mom who just moved into an assisted living after surgery for a fall that broke her spine. Helps her to navigate getting in and out of bed more easily now that she no longer has a hospital bed with rails.

Pros:easy to install, sturdy

Cons:wish it were a bit cheaper

Overall: Yes, I would recommend this product.

Just what we needed

Arrived in a timely fashion. Well packaged with clear instructions for the minimal assembly required.

Pros:Very sturdy, and ladder design allows for smooth hand over hand gradual movement which puts less strain on arthritic shoulders.

Cons:I have no complaints about the product itself but would suggest that the product description could be improved to provide clearer height of frame requirements. The top of our frame is 7 and 1/2 inches from the carpet and the legs of this unit only just fit on their lowest setting.

Overall: Yes, I would recommend this product.

Happy customer

I was impressed with how quickly this was sent. The quality seems high.

Pros:It looks very nice and has a very smooth finish.

Cons:The rail actually moves more than I would have expected. The rails we used before that went under the mattress were less mobile.

Overall: Yes, I would recommend this product.

This product if perfect!

I purchased this product for my husband who is 86 and has a serious balance problem. He fell a couple of times getting out of bed because his walker is not secure enough for him to use if to balance. The visiting nurse group ordered convenional rails which did not fit the bed frame + my husband did not need movable rails. This product sounded like the solution -- and it is. I'm not handy putting up things like this so I asked a porter in my condo to attach it. He had not problem and my husband is happy with it. The rail arrived as promised in 2-3 days. All in all, I am very satisfied with the service and would have no qualms about ordering other products from this company.

Pros:It is exactly as you described. For our purposes it is more efficient that traditional rails.

Cons:There is nothing negative.

Overall: Yes, I would recommend this product.

Superior Design

My wife is a 60 year old partial paraplegic who will soon be coming home from a convalescent home. I awoke one morning to find I had been dreaming about building a bed rail for her. I supervise a crew of aircraft mechanics and technicians and we work on flying aircraft, so I have an extensive manufacturing background. After a cup of coffee, I realized my design was too much. Too heavy, too complicated, too awkward, and so forth. I found this little bedrail to be superior to the other findings on the internet and quite superior to my (nightmare) design(s). I ordered it and received it in three days which was a nice surprise. There is a condition in manufacturing called "an accumulation of tolerances" whereby all the parts are made within specification, but the assembled unit doesn't work, or doesn't fit. There was something like that going on with my unit because it didn't fit. There were several ways to rectify the problem and I chose to remove approximately 1/32" of metal from the top of my hollywood bedframe. This allowed my new bedrail to slip on beautifully and be moved anywhere. Also, by removing the metal from the hollywood bedframe, I preserved the design integrity of the bedrail itself, which was importaint. My little problme took less than an hour to resolve and I am certain that my bed frame was just a fluke and no one else will have this problem. However, if you do, I strongly suggest removing the metal from the bedframe as the best fix. Finally, my wife loves the thing. The "ladder" feature is excellent. The small 11" width is excellent. I am certain that the advertised 250# weight capacity is greatly downgraded; I think it would support three times that easily in a straight down push. Quality of workmanship of the unit is excellent and it is well worth the money.

Overall: No, I would not recommend this product.

Best Gift I have ever given

My grandfather who is a healthy 90 LOVES this product. This is such a great thing, both my grandfather and grandmother brag about how helpful this tool is for both of them. Seniors are more vulnerable to falls in the bathroom and bedroom- be proactive and ensure their safety. They will thank you- i promise! Also, the fact that this does not interfere with bed sheets/comforter draping is icing on the cake. The increased cost for this item is WORTH it.

Overall: No, I would not recommend this product.

A good find

Easy to fit - I chose this model because I don't have a standard box spring bed and this one could be adapted to use on my European bed. It's neat and doesn't take up too much room. Really assists me to get in and out of bed.

Overall: No, I would not recommend this product.
