Does exactly what it is supposed to do.

I did a lot of online research and talked to local retailers trying to find a reasonably priced and reliable lift recliner that would work for my mother. Based on all that, I settled on the Golden Monarch PR-355. If budget were not a concern, I would have chosen a two-motor chair. The only significant down-side I see to this one is that when the chair is in a fully upright sitting position (e.g., for a meal), there is no way to have the footrest elevated. We knew that before ordering; that's just a typical feature of a one-motor chair. We got white glove delivery and it was very easy. Got a call a day ahead to schedule, and they even squeezed us in before the holiday weekend. Chair arrived well within requested delivery window. On arrival, there was a tiny blemish/tear at the way way back of one armrest (possibly from the trip from the truck into the apartment). Between Golden, Parentgiving, and the delivery company, we easily could have gotten a brand new chair about a week later to replace the one originally delivered. That redelivery was even scheduled, but we chose not to replace the original chair because the defect was really small, and Parentgiving's customer service department gave us a credit in compensation which we will use to get a repair/touchup kit. I can't speak highly enough of Parentgiving's customer service staff. (Thank you Sandra!) We got really personalized and responsive service both in scheduling delivery in the first place and in dealing with the minor defect. From from everything I read online, that kind of service is far from common at some other companies. Parentgiving will now be my go-to company for any kind of major assistive purchase for Mom.

Pros:-- Works easily. -- Can reclines almost all the way back to a flat sleeping position. -- Can lifts Mom into a position from which she can stand without any strain on the caregiver's back. -- One of the least expensive lift chair models. -- The vinyl finish seems comfortable and at one point in a showroom, I even accidentally mistook it for the much more expensive Brisa finish.

Cons:-- The control buttons on the remote are permanently lighted, which seems like a waste of electricity. -- This model is a one motor model (which is why the cost can be as low as it is) so the footrest position cannot be set independently of the rest of the chair. -- It is too early to know whether this will be an issue, but the manufacturer warranty on this model is shorter than for some of the more expensive models. -- I wish lift chairs in general were made with remote controls that aren't hard-wired to the chair. This issue is not unique to this chair - I didn't see a single lift-chair during my search that had an unattached remote control.

Overall: Yes, I would recommend this product.
