Incontinence Supplies: Think Easy Disposal

Akord Discrete Disposal System
Managing urge or stress incontinence means having the right incontinence products for comfort and peace of mind. But there’s another facet to maintaining dignity and avoiding embarrassment that often gets overlooked in the treatment of urinary incontinence—being able to easily dispose of adult pads and briefs in a sanitary way and without any noticeable odors.

One of the simplest ways to accomplish this is with a well-designed disposal pail like the Akord Discreet Disposal System. The streamlined unit, which looks like a contemporary trash pail, is designed specifically to hold used adult diapers, pads and other incontinence products using a unique liner system and trapping mechanism.

The super strong ABS plastic material used to manufacture the pail makes Akord both odor and scratch resistant. The plastic won’t turn yellow over time, even if you use bleach to clean it. A rubber seal in the lid locks in odors, keeping them out of the room. Spring loaded trap doors under the lid let briefs drop through while keeping odors in the pail. The lid opens with an easy-to-use foot pedal for no-touch disposal every time.

A clever liner system is used within the disposal pail. A continuous roll of liners is housed in a plastic cartridge, which itself is easy to change with refill cartridges. When the pail is full (or any time you want to empty it), there’s a front door that easily swings open. You simply pull the full bag out of the pail, tie it off and throw it away. The continuous roll allows you to create the next bag as you need it.

The Akord Discreet Disposal System is available is two sizes. The “large” pail holds up to 10 small or medium adult briefs; the “extra large” pail holds up to 12 large or extra large adult briefs. You can buy the pail alone or as part of a starter kit that includes refills. Afterwards, simply buy refill cartridges as needed.
